Q. How does Verified by Visa work?
Once your card is activated with the Verified by Visa service, your card number will be recognized whenever you make an electronic payment. After you provide your debit card details online, you will be redirected to your issuer website and then required to specify your Verified by Visa authentication details. Your identity will be verified, and the transaction will be completed. Based on the authentication provided by your issuer, the transaction will be processed & you will get a confirmation.
Q. Will I be charged for Verified by Visa?
No. This service is free of charge.
Q. After I register, how long does it take for Verified by Visa to become active for my card?
The functionality of Verified by Visa is made available as soon as your registration is successful. You can use your password to login to any Verified by Visa enabled online site to carry out transactions.
Q. Do I have to register for all my cards separately?
Registration needs to be done for all cards individually.
Q. If I am issued a new card is there a need for Verified by Visa registration?
Yes. You will need to register your new card separately.
Q. Where can I find the CVV?
The CVV is printed on the reverse of the card, on the signature panel.
Q. Is my personal information safe and secure?
Yes. Your card details are encrypted and stored on a secure server.
Q. When I register for Verified by Visa, it asks for the CVV, but my debit card is not having the CVV, so how do I register?
If your card does not have a CVV number, then you would need to request for reissue of your debit card. You can do so by contacting our Phone banking unit or giving a request at your nearest branch.
Q. Can I do a debit card transaction without registering for Verified by Visa?
No, for security purposes, you will be allowed to proceed with a transaction only if you have registered for Verified by Visa.
Q. Will I need to register each time I do an Online Internet based transaction?
No, registration is a one time activity for a particular card. Once a card is registered, for all subsequent transactions, only the password needs to be provided to authenticate the transaction.
Q. How long is the password valid?
There is no time frame for password expiry.
Q. How do I change the password?
You can go to "Account Assistant" tab on "Register Now for Verified by Visa" and change the password.
Q. What if I forget the password that I used while registering?
Enter the card number and Click on "Forgot your password" tab on "Register Now for Verified by Visa" and reset the same by entering the Expiry Date, ATM PIN and CVV for debit cards.
Q. What is the use of PAM (Personal Assurance Message)
When you register for Verified by Visa on www.standardchartered.co.in, you will be asked to create a Personal Assurance Message (PAM). This Personal Assurance message will be displayed each time you transact on a Verified by Visa merchant site. The merchant site is an authentic site only if the same Personal Assurance message is displayed.
Please note that if you register for Verified by Visa during online shopping, a Personal Assurance message will be automatically created for you. We recommend that you change your PAM by visiting www.standardchartered.co.in
Q. How do I get the generic PAM changed to a personalized one?
You can go to "Account Assistant" tab on "Register Now for Verified by Visa" and change the PAM.
