The Connect N Save Account is a new variant of a savings account. This account enables the customer to earn reward points on a number of transactions which can be redeemed towards Airtel bill payment and recharge.
Q. What are the features of the Connect N Save Account? What are the advantages of holding a Connect N Save Account?
The Connect N Save Account comes loaded with a unique rewards programme that enables customers to earn
exciting reward points every time they transact on their account. The more you transact, the more you earn ! These reward points
can be redeemed against Airtel Bill Payment and Recharge. This gives a unique opportunity to customers to save upto 30%** on
their mobile bills. The other features of the account are as follows:
- First year free mCommerce Platinum Debit Card on Connect N Save - 10 and
Connect N Save -25 accounts . (Please refer to corporate offer for details on Connect N Save - Employee Banking Account.)
- Free unlimited cash withdrawal (in terms of number of transactions) and balance enquiry at any ATM in India for Connect N

Q. What are the AQB requirements of the Connect N Save Account?
Minimum Average Quarterly Balance requirement is as follows:

Q. When will reward points be credited to the account of the customer?
All Reward points will be credited to the account of the customer on a daily basis, at the end of the day.
Q. How will customers get information on the number of reward points outstanding in their account?
Customers will be informed of the number of reward points
outstanding in their account on a weekly basis through an SMS. Customers can also call up Phone Banking and get information on the number of Reward points outstanding.
Q. What are the charges & fees applicable to the Connect N Save Account?
Please refer to the Schedule of Service Charges for details on fees and charges.
Q. Can the customer place his request for reward redemption through Phone Banking?
No, the customer can call up Phone Banking to know the status of reward points outstanding, however redemption requests can only be placed by sending an SMS to 57575 from the registered mobile number of the customer.
Q. What happens if the customer sends an SMS for reward point redemption from a mobile number which is different from the one registered with us?
All customer requests for reward redemption should be sent only from the mobile number registered with us, else the request cannot be processed.
Q. Is there any minimum amount for redemption?
Yes, for postpaid customers, the redemption can happen for a minimum of 50 reward points. For prepaid customers, the redemption can only happen in denominations of 100, 333 & 444 - this is to ensure that the customer gets maximum talktime against the redemption of reward points.
Q. For prepaid customers, what is the talktime credit that the customer will get on redemption?
Reward points can be redeemed only in denominations of 100, 333 & 444. The talktime credit will be as follows -

Q. How long will it take for the redemption request to be processed?
The reward redemption request will be processed within 2 working days from the date of receipt of the request.
Q. How will the customer know when the request has been processed?
Upon processing the request, the customer will be sent an SMS informing him of the same. The customer can also send an SMS to 543219 to know the total number of reward points redeemed against his Airtel bill in a month.

Q. What is mChek?
mCheck is a revolutionary Mobile Payment service being offered to the customers of Standard Chartered Bank in association
with VISA and mChek India Payments System Limited. Using this service, customers can pay for goods and service from mChek affiliated
merchants using their mobile phones.
Q. How does mChek work?
mChek is a secure mobile payments system using which customers can pay for good and services using their
mobile phones. To make use of the service, customers should follow the steps as mentioned below:
- Download the mChek application by following the steps as mentioned below:
- Airtel Customers to SMS 'mchek' to 543219
- Customers on Other Mobile operators to SMS 'mchek' to 9731599090
Customer will receive a link to download the application on their mobile phones.
Once the application has been downloaded, customers should go to Create mCheck PIN and enter a PIN of
their choice. The services are currently not available for CDMA ( Example - Reliance & Tata Indicom ) customers
- Contact Standard Chartered Bank India to apply for mChek services -
Standard Chartered Bank will process the customer request and issue the mChek card to the customer. The
issuance of mChek card will be at the sole discretion of Standard Chartered Bank.
- Once the card is issued, customer will be intimated of the issuance of the card through an SMS
- When the customer wants to pay online for goods and services at any mChek affiliated merchant, customer will have to choose mChek as the payment option
and enter his/her mobile number to initiate the payment transaction. Customer will then receive the request for making payment on his/her registered mobile
number. To confirm the payment, customer will have to provide the mChek PIN and select Standard Chartered Bank as payment option. Customer will receive the payment status on his/her mobile phone..
- Alternatively, the customer may make use of mCheck Mall to make payment towards mChek affiliated merchants through mobile phones.
- Customers will receive the request for payment on their registered mobile numbers. To confirm the payment , customer will have to provide the mChek PIN and select Standard Chartered Bank as payment option.
- Customers will receive the payment status on their mobile phones
Q. How do customers apply for mChek?
Customers can apply for mChek by contacting Phone Banking.
Q. What is the transaction Limit on mChek?
The daily transaction limit on mChek is INR 25,000.
Q. How does a transaction made through mCheck reflect in the account of the customer?
The transaction narration will be similar to any other
merchant transaction carried out through the Debit card of a customer.
Q. How does a customer pay using mChek?
Customers will have to select mChek as payment option and provide the mChek PIN for transaction confirmation.
Q. What could be the possible reasons for decline of transaction using mChek?
Transactions will get declined in following scenarios
- PIN provided by the customer is wrong
- Amount that the customer wishes to transact is more than the transaction limit
- Insufficient funds in the account of the customer
- Technical problems
Q. Where can the customer pay using mChek?
The customer can use the mChek facility to pay at any mChek affiliated merchant. The updated list of merchants
to whom customers can pay using mChek is available at www.mchek.com
Q. Which all operators are supported on mChek?
Currently, the services are supported on GSM mobile
operators only. The services are currently not available for CDMA (Example - Reliance & Tata Indicom) customers.

Q. Are mChek transaction secure?
All mChek transactions are validated through the PIN known only to the customer. This makes the transactions secure.
Q. What is the customer supposed to do in the event of loss of his/her mobile phone?
The customer should immediately inform Standard Chartered Bank so that the mChek card issued to the customer can be blocked. The customer can contact Phone Banking to get the card blocked and request for the issuance of a new card.
Q. What if the mobile number of the customer changes?
In such a case, the customer will have to change the mobile number registered with Standard Chartered Bank and re-apply for the mChek card to be able to use mChek facility.
Q. What if the customer changes his/her handset?
The customer will have to re-apply for mChek with Standard Chartered Bank in such a case to be able to use mChek facility.
Q. What are the charges applicable on mCheck service?
Currently, customers are not charged for using the
service. However, charges may be applicable for sending SMS and accessing GPRS based on the network
operator. Standard Chartered Bank India currently does not charge customers for the service.
Q. Does a customer need to apply for a mChek card?
Upon applying for a Standard Charterted Bank Connect N Save
account, a mChek card will be automatically issued to the customer. In case the customer is not issued
an mChek card, he/she can apply for the same by calling up Phone Banking.
